Traveling with the whole family is easy and fun; let us show you how!
Travel Made Easily with a bit of Gear
The Canadian website Chicken Little has a great travel gear section that sells items at a reasonable rate, but also gets you thinking about the sort of mishaps you might encounter on a road trip with the kids. Things like tiny plastic bag dispensers and plastic add-ons to car seats that will catch all the crumbs and guck the little ones can drop.

JetBlue Offers One-way Fares from $49
JetBlue is offering a huge sale on fares from a number of US cities within the country and to holiday spots like Aruba and the Dominican Republic. Check their website for sale fares starting at $49 each way.
Canadians can also take advantage of these savings by driving to US towns across the border, such as Seattle and Buffalo. While you will need to factor in the time to drive and airport parking fees while you’re away, sometimes these are justified for the price. Especially when you’re looking at a sale like this, where a family of four could go from Buffalo to Fort Lauderdale for only $914 before taxes (that’s $114 each way x 4).
Get Away to Sun Peaks at Low Rates this Summer
Mountain resorts offer lots in the way of fun for families looking for holiday fun. And in summertime, they offer great savings.
Delta’s Sun Peaks resort has an $89 per night rate through Labour Day. You can enjoy mountain biking, golfing, hiking and more. This offer is valid for Delta Rooms only which have 1 king size bed or two doubles, and for larger families they offer extra cots in rooms at a low rate. Also upgrades to a larger room start at $10 more per night.
This offer is valid for Sunday-Thursday night stays through Sept. 4. Book before June 30th on Delta’s website!
$99 across Canada to Toronto
Sunwing just continues to amaze with their summer sales. Much to the chagrin of those of us who have already purchased our airline tickets for our summer vacation. But for those of you who are teetering on the edge about whether to go away this summer, this will bowl you over for sure.
Just today, Sunwing has released 2000 $99 one-way tickets for one-way flights within Canada to Toronto from Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver or Victoria. They’ll go fast so check them out at Sunwing’s website now!
Vancouver Fine Dining for Parents
This is the best thing I’ve heard of in years. Chambar, that Gastown foodie darling, has decided to hold parties for kids in their cafe Medina on Thursday nights all summer, so that parents can dine in peace next door. Medina is the Belgian waffle cafe next door that’s open during daylight hours only, so it is free evenings for special events. And Thursdays are now “Freedom Dining Nights” for parents who can leave their kids in the capable hands of the Nannies on Call who will feed and entertain them with music, face painting and more. The dress-up photography group Ask Your Fairy is also in attendance. I feel like if my 6-year old gets wind of this she will demand we take her there immediately! This is an idea that should be taken up by other dining establishments to woo parents with refined palates. Please!
Chambar is located in an old brick building on Beatty Street and its warm interiors are red and dark. The bar offers up the latest drinks with very fresh ingredients like basil and chilies, and there’s an ample wine list and of course Belgian beer. The menu is typical high-end French and there are the requisite Belgian mussels and fries on offer, but lots of other dishes such as pastas, duck and veal.
